Pastor Cecil L. Thompson is a native of Los Angeles, California, and was raised in a family deeply rooted in faith in Jesus Christ. An anointed pastor, sought-after evangelist, dynamic worship leader, skilled workshop clinician, passionate youth advocate, and compelling motivational speaker, Pastor Thompson has dedicated his life to ministry, leadership, and service.

Since his adolescence, Pastor Cecil, affectionately known as “Pastor C,” has traveled the world extensively, sharing the Word of God through preaching, teaching, and worship arts. His commitment to ministry extends across multiple levels of the Church Of God In Christ (COGIC), where he serves in various leadership capacities within the Music and Youth Departments at the local, jurisdictional, regional, and international levels. His distinguished assignments include serving as Youth President of the California Southwest Jurisdiction, International Music Department West Coast Region President, Co-Coordinator of the International Youth Choir, and Coordinator of the International Youth Department Morning Glory Prayer during Auxiliaries In Ministry Convention.

Since 2019, Pastor Cecil has served as the leader of The Glory Church Los Angeles (formerly Cecil Thompson Ministries), advancing the vision of seeking the glory of God and sharing the agape love of Jesus Christ through innovative, impactful, and Spirit-led ministry. Under his leadership, the church has expanded to encompass more than ten ministries dedicated to prayer, Bible study, education, wellness, and youth development, reflecting a holistic commitment to spiritual growth and community transformation.

Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Thompson serves professionally as Senior Chaplain of the Los Angeles Mission, where he provides faith-based support and spiritual guidance to individuals navigating the challenges of addiction, homelessness, and poverty. Through this vital work, he extends the compassion of Christ to those in need, offering hope, encouragement, and a pathway toward restoration.
Pastor Cecil is the proud father of his daughter, Kennedy Grace Thompson, who remains the most cherished part of his life.
